About Colquhouns Restaurant
Set on the shores of Loch Lomond, in the Loch Lomond National Park, this modern hotel has a unique beachfront location.
A variety of room types & suites are available all offering uninterrupted views of Loch Lomond complimented by leisure facilities including swimming pool/sauna & jacuzzi.
A stylish restaurant/lounge bar serves gourmet cuisine and afternoon tea, and again offers those panoramic loch and mountain views. Frameless glass windows have been installed that slide and open fully; giving that outside/inside dining feel and our Restaurant Team can take control of the space in the good old Scottish weather. Fabulous new automatic blinds act as a sunshade and fly screen so as not to disrupt diners and stunning new furnishings complete the look.
Our jetty allows arrival by boat from March to October typically.
Morning Tea is served daily 10.00am - 12.00pm
Afternoon Tea is served daily 2.00-5.00pm
Felt very safe with all of the covid measures in place, liked viewing the menu via the QR scan code on the table, was nice to see the team wearing branded face coverings, team kept their distance but still provided a very welcoming guest experience so thank you x
Excellent stay, food and drink. Will be back.
Wonderful stay. First class service during these very strange times. We were filled with confidence in how the staff dealt with Covid procedures. Will definitely be back!
Bar Manager Viki knows her find, whiskies and local history. Very nice and very helpful. Good food and excellent venue
Great food and service - you would barely notice the weird situation we are living in (apart from the face coverings)
Stayed last weekend when you just opened, the service this weekend was poor. I tipped last weekend £60nothing this weekend nothing The worst was breakfast the food was served before the fruit juice and tea- nearly 20 mins from ordering The younger staff members were not bothered re service quality- even though you appeared to have more staff on this weekend
Service was first class for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast.
The staff at were fantastic friendly helpful and assertive . Food and drink enjoyable
We had a lovely visit to the restaurant as part of our stay for both dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious, staff were friendly and welcoming and the views from the window were gorgeous. Good measures in place too to keep guests safe in current climate so we felt very comfortable. Thank you.
Good social distancing and staff are lovely. Supplement pricing is a bit expensive (£15 for steak on top of dinner)
We had a lovely afternoon tea, great service all staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome ,we will definitely be back
Very impressed with the efforts to implement social distancing in the restaurant. This was our first eating out experience since lockdown and we felt perfectly at ease. Food was lovely. Great service from all staff.
Menu limited. Steak was not good. Had to pick bits that weren’t full of gristle. Not good value at £ 38 for bowl of tomato soup and gristly steak. Service fine. Atmosphere lacking. Was so disappointed. Went Duck Bay Restaurant following night. Great menu choice. Place energised with good service and atmosphere. Feel sad that Colquhoun was not what we expected on the night as we enjoyed our stay overall.
Enjoyable meal with great view
Nice and relaxed
Great afternoon tea and fab service with beautiful views over Loch ... We will definitely be back!!
I've been before and decided to bring my mum and dad for their first visit for his birthday. They loved it, my mum wants to book a night in the hotel. The service was exemplary. Staff attentiveness was at just the right level, not constantly asking if everything's OK but not non existant either. Couldn't find fault with any of the food. Everything was delicious and worth the price.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this review as we’ve been coming here since 2012 and in 2016 got married here so not something that I do easily. We booked here as we come twice a year normally to remind ourselves of the great time we had when we got married here but wow have things changed. Staff - Front of house staff are very young and under trained that are wearing I’ll fitting face masks while also serving customers in dirty trainers and leggings. We have never seen standards slip so quickly in a place. Not only this but basic questions such as what is the soup today was such a hassle to get an answer to. Food - Over priced rubbish. We run a high end hospitality company and when you get a menu that charges £12 supplement for Sirloin you expect 2 things - First of all you expect Sirloin and NOT Rib Eye as they served to us. Also if you let them know how it is to be cooked then at least get it close as my wife’s medium steak was not in the slightest bit pink and was so tough she ended up leaving half of it. Kids menu we were charged £6 for a Mr Whippy Ice cream! Booking - We tried to book online as they state on website however this did not work and ended up having to call to make booking. When we got there we sat in the bar as we were early but noticed the restaurant only had one table of 2 in at 5:20 and spoke to the bar manager who advised the chef was not ready for us to take our table yet so it would be 5:30 we could sit down. Normally this is ok as menus etc are on the tables however when you have to scan a barcode on a table and then look at one menu on a small screen and then come out to look at the kids menu this is not very straight forward. Overall we left here feeling very underwhelmed and overcharged which is a sad feeling as we will never now come back here to a place we only had happy memories. Sometimes change is not a good thing and it’s very evident that they are only wanting to extract the most amount of money out of you and don’t care about the actual customer or their experience.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and an amazing view.
Sandwiches on lunch menu were overpriced at £10.50 and skimped on the coleslaw and crisps, so better portion size is needed for that price. Dinner was very nice and waiting staff friendly. Overall enjoyable stay
I would love to do a rating but as i could not attend due to lockdown i hope to rebook at a later date .
First class service from our waitress Louise and the food was beautiful. The restaurant was clean and the view outstanding.
Very friendly service & food was delicious. Will definitely return. Stunning views
Had a lovely lunch food perfect and staff lovely would recomend
My husband had the beef cheek for starters as its one of his favourites and this one is in his words "the best I've ever had"... Followed by the pork belly which got the exact same response.... The truffle mash absolutely spot on.. Food was delicious... Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money... Nice atmosphere.. Good drinks selection
